Grassroots Help from the Scientology Volunteer Ministers in the Philippines
While Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours provide training seminars and workshop to police, firefighters, government agencies and NGOs (non-governmental organizations), they also provide one-on-one help to people all over the world.
The Volunteer Ministers often go house to house to let people know about free courses and workshops available at the Goodwill Tour tent.
Using techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard these volunteers are experts in patching up relationships, helping people overcome drug problems, study problems, work-related stress and conflicts, and while in the city of Baguio, in the Philippines, the team members frequently go door to door to meet people, invite them to attend classes at the Goodwill Tour tent and offer them a hand with whatever help they need.
They get to know the people of the community on a very personal level.
"This course honestly helps me a lot with communicating to other people more easily," wrote one person who recently completed a course at the Volunteer Ministers tent. "I thank again all the staff of this ministry for assisting me to finish this course and also I thank L. Ron Hubbard for sharing this technology with the Filipinos and people around the globe."
Courses and workshops are provided free of charge at the Volunteer Ministers tent.
"I started the 'Targets and Goals' course last month and I learned how to set my goals in life and how to make them a reality," wrote another recent course graduate.
These volunteers are experts in patching up relationships, helping people overcome drug problems, study problems, work-related stress and conflicts.
"At home most often we argue with my mom. Sometimes if I'm with my friends I just shut my mouth. Now I see that I should try to learn to listen to my mom. In order to have a long relationship with other people the most important thing is communication, because it is the pathway to develop good relationships," wrote a young woman who completed the Components of Understanding Course.
|Here a Scientology Volunteer Minister provides a Scientology assist to a man in a Baguio park. Scientology assists are procedures that help people who are ill, distraught or injured. While they do not take the place of medical attention or first aid, assists address the emotional and spiritual side of the trauma, and help the person to recover fully and quickly from injury, stress or shock. Assists are described online on the Scientology Handbook|
Volunteer Ministers from Scientology churches and missions provide service to their communities in cities around the world. The Church provides continental cavalcades and Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours to bring this help to people in towns and cities where there are no Scientology churches, and free online courses through a "virtual cavalcade" on the Scientology Volunteer Ministers web site.
